II. Performance
Pluracol V-10 Polyol is an extremely viscous, high molecular weight, liquid polyoxyalkylene glycol (polyethylene glycol) polyol; it is particularly effective as a thickener in water-glycol type fire-resistant hydraulic fluids; compared to other commercially available thickeners, its use is also more economical—the required amount can be less than 20%; it has excellent film-forming properties, chemical and shear stability, is non-corrosive and non-foaming (it actually inhibits foam in formulations), does not cause sedimentation or gelation; it provides good lubrication, significant compatibility with other materials, and under normal use or storage conditions, it is not affected by hydrolysis, bacteria, oxidation, or heat.
III. Applications
Used in metal quenchant formulations, the unique property of Pluracol V-10 Polyol to spread out on plates enables controlled cooling rates; it can also be used as a lubricating additive in metal cutting and grinding coolants; it can be used in other applications requiring plasticizing, lubrication, and softening properties.
Fire-resistant hydraulic fluids (water/glycol type): This is the primary application of Pluracol V-10 Polyol; fire-resistant hydraulic fluids using Pluracol V-10 Polyol exhibit other important advantages: Newtonian rheological behavior similar to petroleum, non-thixotropic, non-dilatant, non-stringy or sticky, very high viscosity index, no separation under general use and storage conditions, acts as a corrosion inhibitor (Pluracol V-10 Polyol itself is non-corrosive), and enhances lubricity with anti-wear agents.
Although Pluracol V-10 Polyol was specifically developed for use in water-glycol fire-resistant hydraulic fluids, its unique properties have proven valuable in the following applications: also used in water-soluble cutting and grinding fluids: Pluracol V-10 Polyol can separate from an aqueous solution onto hot metal surfaces or cutting edges, which aids in better cooling, reduced tool wear, and improved surface finish. Also used in synthetic metal quenching fluids: The unique property of Pluracol V-10 Polyol in quenching applications allows it to spread outside the metal plate on hot metal surfaces, enabling controlled cooling; by adjusting the concentration of the quenching fluid, cooling rates can be controlled.
IV. Packaging
This product is packaged in 204 kg iron drums. The packaging containers are labeled with the product name, specifications, batch number, net weight, and manufacturer name.
V. Transportation and Storage
Handle with care during transportation; avoid impact.
This product should be stored in a well-ventilated, dry, and cool place. In the sealed original packaging container, the product has a shelf life of 24 months. If stored for more than 2 years, it is recommended to test and analyze the material to confirm its quality before use.
